UPDATE: Brothers charged with attempted homicide in Oct. fight

UPDATED Wednesday, August 21, 2013 --- 2:56 p.m.

According to the Attorney General's Office, two brothers have been charged with attempted homicide in connection to a fight that happened in Iowa Co. back in October of 2012.

Brandon Behrens has been charged with attempted homicide while armed with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and substantial battery while armed with a dangerous weapon.

Shane Behrens has been charged with attempted homicide while armed with a dangerous weapon, substantial battery, substantial battery while armed with a dangerous weapon and recklessly endangering safety while armed with a dangerous weapon.

Both brothers are also charged with being a party to the crime of reckless injury while armed with a dangerous weapon.

According to a criminal complaint, the brothers attended a party on October 27-28th in Aerna.

They allegedly injured five people, who had to be treated for stab wounds and broken bones.

The Behrens are scheduled to be in court for initial appearances on August 28th.

Release from Iowa County Sheriff's Department:

Earlier today, 10-31-12, Shane T Behrens age 19 of Spring Green was arrested and booked into the Iowa County Jail for Attempted Homicide/Party to the crime of and Substantial Battery.

Brandon M Behrens age 20 of Spring Green was arrested and booked into the Iowa County Jail for two counts of Attempted Homicide and one count of Attempted Homicide/Party to the crime of.

Both are being held pending a bond hearing that is expected to be held sometime on November 1, 2012.

UPDATED Sunday, October 28, 2012 --- 7:24 p.m.

ARENA, Wis. (AP) -- Four people were injured in a stabbing after a fight broke out at a Halloween Party.

The stabbing happened early Sunday at a house in the town of Arena. Initially, authorities said three people went to the hospital with stab wounds. But WMTV-TV reports a fourth victim was discovered hours later.

Iowa County authorities say all four people received medical attention. Some injuries are serious, but not life-threatening.

Two men are in custody on unrelated charges Sunday night. They are being called persons of interest in the stabbing.

Authorities are still investigating.

Press Release from the Iowa Co. Sheriff's Office:

The stabbing incident reported earlier today is still under investigation. A fourth victim was discovered hours after the incident was reported. All victims have received medical care for their injuries, some are injuries would be considered serious but not life threatening at this time. Two persons of interest in the stabbing incident are in custody on unrelated charges at this time.

They are identified as Brandon M Behrens age 20 of Spring Green and his brother Shane T Behrens age 19 of Spring Green. Shane Behrens was arrested for Recklessly Endangering Safety and Battery. Brandon Behrens was arrested for Battery and Substantial Battery. Both are being held in the Iowa County Jail.

The investigation is continuing.

UPDATED Sunday, October 28, 2012 --- 4:21 p.m.

NBC15's Sally Mamdooh just received an update from the Iowa Co. Sheriff.

Two people are in custody at this time. They are being held on charges unrelated to the stabbings right now. They have been identified as:

Shane Behrens
Brandon Behrens

Again, they have not been charged in regards to the stabbing, but the sheriff says that deputies believe they were involved.

At this time, deputies are not looking for any other suspects in this case.

NBC15's Sally Mamdooh spoke with the Iowa County Sheriff over the phone today.

He says there were several intoxicated subjects at the party, and a fight broke out.

One suspect is in custody on unrelated charges. Deputies are still looking for two more suspects.

Deputies plan to interview victims who are still in the hospital. They suffered non-life threatening injuries.

ARENA, Wis. (AP) -- Three people were taken to the hospital with stab wounds after a fight broke out at a Halloween Party.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports (http://bit.ly/TMBiT1 ) the fight started early Sunday at a house in the town of Arena.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Office says three people were stabbed. All three were taken to University of Wisconsin hospital. One had to be flown to the hospital by helicopter.

Their conditions were not available Sunday.

Authorities say they are still investigating. There is no word on whether anyone has been arrested.

Three people are hospitalized after being stabbed at a Halloween party in Iowa County.

Iowa County deputies were called at 1:24 Sunday morning to a house party on County Road H near the Village of Arena.

County officials say a fight broke out at the party and three people were stabbed. One was flown to the UW hospital and two others were also transported to the UW Hospital.

Officials are still investigating, but say there is no threat to the public at this time.
