At Meriter Hospital, staff have already delivered 20 babies this Mother's Day weekend, and another nine are expected to be born by midnight.
Joe and Anita Hanger may not have a name picked out for their newborn yet, but the little guy already knows how to surprise Mom for Mother's Day.
"I was due on Wednesday, so I was excited it was happening this weekend. It just works out that it's for Mother's Day and it's the best gift I could possibly get," Anita said.
The proud parents welcomed their baby boy Saturday morning, weighing a healthy 9 lbs. 14 oz.
"He's got Dad's fingers and eyes and ears and I've been told he's got my nose," Anita said.
This is the second son for the Baraboo farmers, who have a two-year-old at home.
"He's excited," Anita said. "He wants somebody to play with and grow up on the farm with and share his animals and pets."
And even though Mom will have to share her holiday from now on, she says she wouldn't have it any other way.
"I'm looking forward to multiple years of birthday parties that we're not going to be planning around Mother's Day," Anita said.
