Beaver Dam Police took a man into custody Thursday morning after he allegedly threatened to kill his neighbor and his neighbor's family.
Police responded to a dispute Wednesday night in the 300 block of Haskell Street. Officers say the man who allegedly made the threats had thrown a chainsaw into Beaver Dam Lake.
Officers learned that the man had attempted to get firearms earlier in the day from a family home in the Township of Beaver Dam. A neighbor also told police the man was seen with a handgun several days before.
Family members and neighbors were concerned about the man's behavior. Police say he was uncooperative when they arrived. They searched his home and did not find any firearms. He was taken into custody at 1:07 Thursday morning.
Police are not identifying the 36-year-old suspect until formal charges are filed. Officers are requesting he be charged with disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim.
