POSTED: Monday, November 19, 2012 --- 1:50 p.m.

From the Dane County Sheriff's Office:

Dane County Sheriff’s deputies, along with Marshall Police, Fire and EMS, responded to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 73 in the town of York at about noon today.

The driver and sole occupant of a 2000 Dodge pick-up truck was traveling northbound, when he went off the road just north of Clarkson Road. The vehicle went over a culvert and then struck a tree, seriously injuring the 74-year-old man from Beloit. He was transported to UW Hospital by Med Flight. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, his name is being withheld pending further information on his condition.

At this point, the cause of the crash is unknown, but Sheriff’s deputies are continuing to investigate.
