UPDATE: Beloit Police Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect, Mother

BELOIT, Wis. (AP) -- Police in Wisconsin have arrested a mother and son wanted in connection with alleged felonies in Minnesota and North Dakota.

Beloit police served search warrants at two residences Saturday about 4 a.m. They detained eight people and arrested the two suspects.

One is a 25-year-old man wanted for attempted murder and robbery in Moorhead, Minn. The other is the man's 53-year-old mother. She was arrested on felony theft allegations in Fargo, N.D.

Both suspects were being held at the Rock County Jail on Saturday pending extradition hearings.

Police say the arrests were preceded by a one-hour standoff with the son, who was considered armed and dangerous. Police launched chemical munitions into the house where he was hiding. He eventually surrendered.

Police say no neighbors or officers were hurt.

Beloit police arrest an attempted murder suspect and his mother on Saturday morning for separate crimes in Minnesota and North Dakota.

Just after 4 a.m. on Saturday, Beloit Police executed search warrants at two east side homes in Beloit. Police were looking for 25 year-old Samuel L. Bullock in connection to a shooting in Moorehead, Minnesota. They were also looking for his mother, 53-year-old Denise Harlan for an unrelated felony theft case in Fargo, North Dakota.

Members of the Beloit Police Department’s tactical unit, served the warrants at 1438 and 1442 Randall Avenue. They were assisted by members of the detective bureau, drug and gang unit, evidence technician unit, crisis negotiations unit and uniformed patrol division.

Bullock was inside 1438 Randall and refused refused to surrender. He was considered armed and dangerous. After a period of communications, chemical munitions were deployed into the residence. He surrendered just before 0500 hours. The immediate neighborhood experienced some disruption during this time, but returned to normal shortly after 0500 hours. No citizens, suspects, or officers were injured during the incident.

A total of eight people were detained during the search warrant, but only Bullock and Harlan were arrested.

Both subjects are being held at the Rock County Jail pending extradition proceedings.

Beloit Police have been working with local and federal law enforcement officials in Moorehead, MN in an attempt to apprehend the suspects, who they believed to be hiding out in the Beloit area for the past few weeks.

No additional information will be available until 03/25/2013.

Arrested on Warrants related to an Attempted Murder and Robbery from Moorehead, MN

2. Denise Harlan (mother of Samuel Bullock)
Female/Black DOB: 09/12/1959
Arrested on Warrant for Felony Theft/Larceny from Fargo, ND
