Beloit Police are investigating after an infant died in a co-sleeping incident.
On Oct. 30th around 4:25 a.m., authorities responded to a home in the 600 block of Central Ave. for a report of an infant that was not breathing.
Crews arrived to find the father doing CPR. The infant was taken to the hospital, where the child was pronounced dead.
Investigators say that around 2:00 that morning, the infant had been sleeping in the father's arms as he sat in a reclining chair watching TV. The man also fell asleep.
The mother found the infant unresponsive and called 911.
The cause of death was determined to be airway obstruction due to poor sleeping habits.
Authorities are still investigating.
