UPDATE: Alleged driver in crash with bicyclist found, thought she hit deer

UPDATED Thursday, September 12, 2013 --- 2:46 p.m.

Dane Co. Deputies say they have found the driver in a crash that injured a bicyclist. The woman said she thought she had hit a deer.

The crash happened Tuesday around 7:20 a.m. on Highway PD near County View Road.

A citizen who saw news reports about the crash noticed the damaged vehicle in a parking lot on Deming Way.

Deputies contacted the vehicle's owner, 29-year-old Heather Jacobson of Ridgeway. She admitted to driving on PD that morning, thinking she had hit a deer.

Jacobson has been cited with hit and run causing injury, no insurance, and failure to move over while passing a bicycle.

The bicyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Dane Co. Deputies are looking for a driver that hit and injured a bicyclist Tuesday morning in the Town of Verona.

The driver of a blue sedan, possibly a Nissan, clipped the bicyclist with the passenger side mirror of the car. It happened around 7:20 a.m. on Highway PD near County View Road.

A 58-year-old man was thrown from his bike.

Witnesses stopped to help him. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle will have visible damage to the passenger side.
