The Dane Co. Medical Examiner has identified the body found in the Yahara River Saturday morning as that of 19-year-old Erik Winders of Madison.
Preliminary autopsy results are consistent with an accidental drowning.

Dane Co. deputies say a body was found in the Yahara River Saturday morning.
A man called 911 around 3:08 a.m. after finding the body near Squaw Bay. The caller was out fishing in a boat with friends.
An autopsy has been performed and authorities are still investigating the cause of death. The body is that of a man. His identity is being withheld at this time.
At this time the death does not appear suspicious.
Authorities want to hear from anyone who may have seen a man walking in the area of the Yahara River between 7:00 p.m. Friday night and 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning. They are trying to figure out where the man entered the water.
Deputies also ask people the check the shoreline for any missing clothing. If you find black athletic shorts, a grey short-sleeved shirt or black flip flops, call the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Officer In Charge at (608) 284-6155.
