UPDATE: Woman Dies in Morning Crash in Dane County

UPDATED Tuesday, February 19, 2013 --- 9:55 a.m.

From the Dane County Sheriff's Office:

February 19, 2013 – The Dane County Medical Examiner has released the name of the woman who died in yesterday’s two-vehicle crash on Highway 14. Jessica A. Frank, age 32 of Evansville, died as a result of her injuries.

The second woman involved in yesterday’s crash, Karla M. Camm, age 42 of Evansville, remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

From the Dane County Medical Examiner:

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office is releasing the name of the women that died in the two vehicle crash in the Town of Rutland yesterday (02-18-13). The crash that occurred on USH 14 north of W. Rutland road was reported at or about 0708hrs. The female was transported to a local Madison Hospital where she later died a short time later. The female can be identified as:

Jessica FRANK
Evansville, WI

Ms. Frank’s death is the result of blunt force injuries she sustained in the crash. Additional toxicology testing is underway at this time.

This case remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Madison, WI. February 18, 2013 – At 7:08 am, Dane County Sheriff’s deputies, along with Madison Paramedics, UW Med Flight, and Fire and EMS from Oregon and Brooklyn, responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 14 in the town of Rutland.

A 32-year-old woman from Brooklyn was traveling southbound on Highway 14 at West Rutland Road in a Pontiac Sunfire, when she drove onto the shoulder, then over-corrected, crossed the centerline, and hit an oncoming Toyota Rav4. The Pontiac Sunfire then rolled over, leaving the woman pinned inside. She was not wearing her seatbelt and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The Toyota Rav4 was operated by a 42-year-old woman from Evansville. She was wearing her seatbelt, but also had to be extricated from her vehicle.

Both women were transported by ambulance to UW Hospital, and upon their arrival, the 32-year-old Brooklyn woman was pronounced dead. The 42-year-old Evansville woman was admitted with serious injuries.

Highway 14 between CTH A and Highway 92 is currently closed and is expected to re-open at approximately 11:00 am.
