UPDATED: Monday, October 22, 2012 --- 10:45 p.m.

A student photographing the Beltline from a pedestrian bridge was hit in the head and knocked to the ground before two men stole his camera Sunday.

Madison Police are searching for two suspects who wore dark hooded sweatshirts, and the student's professional camera.

The student, and aspiring filmmaker, says he was taking journal pictures for a photography class. He was struck to the ground on the side of the head, and when he got back up he saw his gear gone.

He is a freshman at the Madison Media Institute from out of state, and only arrived in town about a month ago.

Details:
A student, who recently moved from Iowa to Madison, to attend the Madison Media Institute, was mugged while working on a school project Sunday night.

The 19-year-old had positioned a still camera on a tripod atop the pedestrian bridge in the 300 block of the W. Beltline Highway. He was in the midst of snapping a series of nighttime traffic photographs, with a focus on capturing streaks of light, when he was suddenly struck on the left side of the head. The blow knocked him down. When he got back up he could see two robbers heading toward Pheasant Ridge Trail in the Town of Madison.

The student estimated the value of the stolen camera equipment at nearly $1,000.

There seems to be a very consistent description of the criminals whenever violent crimes occur in Madison....

More of Madison's fine "diverse" citizens. Why work for a living when you can beat up residents and take what you feel you are entitled to. Losers.
