Car window shot out at Janesville business

Posted Friday, April 11, 2014 --- 3:56 p.m.

Janesville Police are investigating after someone shot out the window of a car in the parking lot of Precision Drawn Metals.

It happened around 2:15 p.m. Friday at the business on Plainfield Ave.

An employee witnessed the incident. Police say a white male, possibly wearing a red or orange baseball cap turned backwards, in a black two-door vehicle fired three to four shots into the parking lot, hitting the car window. Police say the suspect vehicle may have been a Pontiac Grand Prix.

Officers say the damage is consistent with a pellet gun, but they are not ruling out a small caliber firearm.

Police do not know if this incident is related to vandalism that happened last week at the Janesville Mall parking lot.
