Several events happening in Beloit this weekend! The farmers market kicks off bright and early Saturday at 8 a.m. An event that's been taking place in downtown Beloit for the past 45 years. Organizers say it's a perfect opportunity to show off their city. "We have over 160 vendor booths and over 5,000 people come to our second largest farmers market in the state of Wisconsin," said Shauna El-Amin of the Downtown Beloit Association
With help from Visit Beloit, the city is also featuring original artwork throughout the community, area artists painting antique doors that are placed around town; giving locals and visitors a tour of the city with each stop and a chance to win a prize! "They take a photo of themselves in front of the doors, put the hashtag "visit Beloit doors" upload it to instagram or facebook, and they're automatically entered," explained Monica Krysztopa, Executive Director of Visit Beloit. A unique and original view around every corner. There's 46 of those doors around town, both in Beloit and South Beloit.
