MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A U.S. Coast Guard officer is accused of having abusive sexual contact with a female colleague while he was stationed in Milwaukee last year.
The Coast Guard identifies him as Petty Officer 3rd Class Joshua M. Raymond, a 30-year-old from Deerfield.
Raymond also faces tentative charges of attempted sexual assault and making false statements during the investigation.
He now faces an Article 32 hearing, which is similar to a civilian grand jury hearing. Coast Guard spokesman Christopher Yaw says the outcome could range from having the charges dropped to initiating court-martial proceedings.
Raymond's defense attorney, Grover Baxley, says his client intends to plead not guilty to all charges.
Raymond had been assigned to the Lake Michigan facility in Milwaukee. He was transferred to Station Grand Haven, Mich., after the investigation.
