From the Columbus Fire Department:
The Columbus Fire Department responded to a house fire Thursday night at 7:23 p.m. at 402 Ridgeview Lane in the city of Columbus.
The home is owned by Mark and Joyce Matthews of Livingston, WI, and occupied by their daughter, Amy Jo Vesperman and her two teenage children.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
The home, which is half of a duplex, sustained major damage.
The other half of the duplex was unharmed.
There were no injuries.
Mutual aid was provided by the Fall River Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters were on scene for three hours. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
