Beloit --- City officials are calling it one of the deadliest years in Beloit. So far, there’s been seven murders since the start of 2014.
Inside a busy Summit Park, a make shift memorial sits where a teenager was gunned down two weeks earlier. In addition, a small remnant of crime scene tape can still be seen on the fence that greets people walking into Summit Park for "Beloit Strong."
It’s an event made to strengthen the community, bringing them closer to one another and further away from violence.
The Beloit Police Department was in attendance, along with local church groups who say it's the communities job as a whole to fix the issue.
