ARCADIA, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating a crash that killed three people in Trempealeau County of western Wisconsin.
Sheriff Richard Anderson says an eastbound SUV and a westbound minivan collided on Highway 95 between Arcadia and Blair around 7:30 a.m. Monday. The van caught fire.
The driver of the SUV, who was alone in her vehicle, was pronounced dead at a Whitehall hospital. The driver and one passenger in the minivan died at the scene, while two other van passengers were taken to hospitals in the area. There was no immediate word on their conditions.
Names of the victims have not been released. The sheriff says the cause of the crash remains undetermined.
Highway 95 was shut down shortly after the crash and reopened around 1 p.m.
