A Fitchburg man is dead and another injured after a car accident on Sunday night.
The accident happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of McCoy and Herman roads.
Police say a 27 -year-old man was traveling westbound on McCoy Road when he crossed the median and hit another vehicle traveling eastbound.
The 27-year-old was taken to the hospital, where he later died. His name is being withheld until family is notified.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fitchburg Police say the crash Sunday night on McCoy Rd. involved two vehicles and one fatality.
As of 9:40 p.m. Sunday, McCoy Road remains closed between Highway 14 and Syene Road for crash reconstruction.
Fitchburg Police plan to release more information soon.

Fitchburg Crews are responding to a crash at McCoy Road and Herman Road.
Crews are still at the scene and have not released many details. Fitchburg Police officials say drivers should expect the area to be closed for the next few hours.
Our photographer at the scene says multiple ambulances responded. He said that two vehicles appeared to be involved in the crash.
