Details:
A MPD Central District detective utilized tracking software in the victim’s stolen MacBook to find the approximate location of the laptop computer Wednesday afternoon.
Several investigators responded to the 800 block of E. Washington Ave., which is where software was showing the approximate current location of the MacBook.
Detectives went inside a warming shelter at 827 E. Washington Ave. The MacBook was found, as was a BB gun that looked very much like a real handgun. Also present was the 18-year old suspect. The teen was arrested for armed robbery. He claims no permanent address, and among his possessions were Greyhound luggage receipts.

Victim: male, age 29, Madison
Details: The victim had just parked his car and was walking into his building when the suspect came behind him and followed him into the building. The suspect then pointed a silver handgun at the victim and told him to drop the bag he was carrying.
The suspect took the bag and also demanded the victim's wallet and cell phone, which the victim turned over. The suspect then told the victim to wait until he was gone before calling the police. The victim was not injured.
