From the Beloit Police Department:
The Beloit Police Department is investigating an Armed Robbery that occurred on February 7, 2013 at about 6:30 p.m. The incident took place at the ATM machine in the 400 block of Public Av.
The victim, a female customer, had driven to the ATM and was completing a cash withdrawal transaction. She was then approached by a black male on foot who forced his way into her vehicle. The suspect threatened the victim with a handgun and ordered her to make a second cash withdrawal. The suspect stole the cash from both withdrawals.
The suspect then ordered the victim to drive away from the scene. At the intersection of Wisconsin Av. and Bushnell St., the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot in a northerly direction. Attempts to track the suspect’s footprints in the snow were unsuccessful. The victim
was not physically injured.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’4” tall, and wearing dark clothing. This suspect description and actions are very similar to an Armed Robbery at the same ATM that occurred on January 6, 2013.
Investigators will be reviewing the ATM’s video surveillance today to see if it assists in identifying the suspect.
Anyone with information in regards to this crime and/or the January 6th incident is encouraged to call the Beloit Police Department, 364-6801, or Beloit Area Crime Stoppers, 362-7463. Individuals may also text information to 274637 then type BACS + your message.
