Victim: Male, age 48, Madison
Details: A concerned citizen called for police after hearing a loud bang outside his Garnet Lane home Monday night. It was the sound of a window being smashed out, and he looked out to see a thief inside his neighbor's pick-up, lighting up the cab's interior with a flash light. The truck's driver-side window was shattered.
The witness provided a good description of the criminal and responding officers located the gloved suspect walking in the area. The 18-year old immediately dropped a brick, and then struggled with an officer during the arrest. His pockets were stuffed with lots of items: a GPS unit, a woman's bus passes, a cell phone, many coins were among the recovered property.
The 48-year old pickup truck owner said a pack of cigarettes were stolen from his vehicle, and the suspect was carrying the same brand of cigarettes. The MPD also arrested the teen on August 9th after he stole a bicycle from the garage of a home in the 5200 block of Raymond Rd.
