POSTED: Monday, January 7, 2013 --- 12:45 p.m..

From the Madison Police Department:

Incident Type
Stolen Auto

Incident Date
01/05/2013 - 2:23 AM

Address
636 W. Washington (Kelly Williamson Mobil)

Victim
Male, age 23, Madison
Victim is a pizza delivery driver.

Details
A pizza delivery driver needed to take a quick pit stop for a bathroom break early Saturday morning. So he pulled into a W. Washington Ave. service station. He parked in the front, leaving the car running and unlocked; his Falbo Brothers Pizzeria bag on the back seat. During his hiatus the 1998 Honda disappeared. At first, he suspected coworkers of playing a trick, and he walked around the Mobil with hopes of finding his car the back lot. No luck, so he called 911. A couple of hours later, around 5:00 a.m., his stolen car was found in the 2900 block of East Washington Ave. It has been abandoned in a traffic lane. A responding officer surmised that it may have run out of gas. The thief, the victim's car keys, and his pizza bag were nowhere to be found.

Never, ever leave your car running and unattended. It is a terrible thing to have your vehiclel stolen. Sadly this young man learned the hard way.
