On Tuesday, 03/19/13 at approximately 2231 hours, Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and Officers from the Edgerton Police Department responded to the 5800 block of N. Glenmoor Lane in Janesville Township for a report of an armed robbery that just occurred. Dispatch advised two white male subjects pointed handguns at a man and his son in a driveway and fled the area in a Cadillac after stealing an I-Phone and a laptop computer.
As law enforcement officials were responding to the area and checking nearby roads, dispatch advised the man had actually followed the suspects to a parking lot behind the Janesville Athletic Club on Blackbridge Road where the vehicle, a gold, 2001 Cadillac Seville, had struck the building and became stuck in a snow bank. The man went to Taasbag Bar to borrow a cell phone, called 911 to give the updated location and advised the suspects removed the license plate from the car and fled on foot.
As Rock County Deputies began a foot pursuit with the subjects, Janesville Police Officers and a K9 unit responded to the area and assisted Rock County Deputies in taking both subjects into custody. In checking the area and searching the vehicle, Deputies recovered two handguns along with a cell phone and laptop computer.
The subjects, identified as Brandon M. Bunch, age 23, and Brandon S. Turnure, age 20, both of Loves Park, IL, were transported to the Rock County Jail where they were held pending initial appearances in Jail Court on 03/21/13 at 1600 hours on charges of Armed Robbery. Additional charges are expected, as this is an ongoing investigation.
Additional information suggests that Bunch and Turnure are likely linked to a similar case that occurred in Madison, WI on 03/16/13, which remains under investigation by the Madison Police Department.
