Incident Report from the Madison Police Department
Incident Type: Robbery
Incident Date: 02/23/2013 - 11:20 PM
Address: N. Henry St. @ Langdon St.
Suspect(s): Female, black, 5'8", 140 pounds, short black hair worn in a "buzz cut," dark complexion, several piercings in left ear, long eyelashes, wearing skinny jeans and a dark puffy coat that was possibly a North Face.
Victim: Female, age 19, Madison
Details: A 19-year old downtown resident was mugged near the intersection of N. Henry St. and Langdon St. Saturday night.
Around 11:20 p.m., the victim and friends walked past a group of people: 3 young men and 1 young woman. The victim had just finished texting her father, and had returned her new cell phone to a pocket. Seconds later, the woman from the other group attacked the victim, knocking her to the ground, punching her in the head. The stranger grabbed the victim's cell phone and ran. The victim gave chase and tracked the robber down, and with the help of friends, got the phone back after one friend threw money at the criminal. All went their separate ways, and police were not called for a half-hour.
One witness thought the robber may have been acting on a dare from the young men with whom she was hanging out.
