According to the Madison Police Department, at 12:51 a.m. Saturday morning, a PDQ was robbed while an officer was inside buying refreshments.
It happened at the PDQ located at 7502 Mineral Point Rd. A Madison Police Officer was on routine patrol when he stopped at the convenience store to purchase refreshments.
According to a release, while in the back of the store, the alert officer noticed a subject enter the store. Police said the suspect was acting suspicious which drew the eye of the Madison Police Officer.
The suspect then showed a weapon to the clerk and demanded money. When suspect fumbled, the officer responded as trained and demanded the suspect stop his actions.
The weapon was dropped and the suspect fled on foot, with the officer in foot pursuit.
The foot chase lasted several minutes and eventually the 34-year-old suspect was caught.
According to police, there were no injuries reported.
