TOMAH, Wis. (AP) -- A suspicious vehicle with a beeping trunk caused an evacuation near a bank in Tomah.

Authorities couldn't find the owner of the vehicle partially blocking the road near the Farmers and Merchants Bank late Wednesday afternoon. An officer responding to the scene also saw suspicious materials inside the car.

That's when federal authorities, Fort McCoy personnel and the Dane County bomb squad were called. People within a two-block radius were evacuated.

All items removed from the vehicle with the help of a robot were found to be non-explosive. WXOW-TV (http://bit.ly/kcF3aH) says officers later located the car's owner in the downtown area. He was referred to prosecutors for carrying a concealed handgun in his vehicle.
