DeForest Woman Seriously Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash

Dane County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the town of Vienna on Monday, January 21st.

Deputies responded to CTH I at Hahn Road at 6:02 pm, where they believe Marie J. Lerum, age 77 of DeForest, had stopped at the intersection of Hahn Road and CTH I. Marie then proceeded to turn southbound onto CTH I, into the path of an oncoming vehicle traveling northbound on CTH I.

Marie sustained life-threatening injuries and she was transported by EMS to UW Hospital, where she remains hospitalized.

The driver of the second vehicle, Timothy D. Thielbar, age 48 of Arlington, was not injured in the crash.

At this point, no citations have been issued. The crash remains under investigation.
