Andrea Humphrey and her three-year-old daughter were in the family room of their Dane County home on County Highway DM just before noon Thursday.
Andrea, startled by a loud noise coming from the front of her home, went to check it out.
" I just walked into the formal dining room and said oh my. "
Glass, insulation and other debris covered her buckling floor. Andrea raced outside to survey the damage. When she got there she saw 43-year-old Matthew Foges still sitting in his Jeep Grand Cherokee.
" I came out and I saw a gentleman in there and he was obviously having a seizure. So I had the phone in my hand already. So I called 911. "
Andrea's husband Perry was at work at the time of the accident.
He raced home to survey the damage. For the family it's a big blow.
They fell in love with the house in June, paid close to the asking price and moved in on the same day they closed.
All things considered they were very lucky. Just moments before the SUV came crashing into the front of their home Andrea and her daughter were sitting at the dining room table just feet from the accident.
The family plans on staying in the home. However they have been told by the fire department not to go on to the second floor.
