Madison Police arrested a driver and his passenger Wednesday afternoon after a road rage incident. The driver allegedly pointed a loaded gun at another driver.
A 19-year-old Madison man told police he was merging from Stoughton Rd. onto the Beltline when a passenger in a truck threw a handful of change at him through his open driver's side window.
The victim followed the truck. At one point, he pulled up near the truck's window. He said he could see a weapon pointed at him. The teen backed off and called police.
Officers later found the truck. A handgun was found inside of the cab. Police also say a knife was found in the passenger's hand bag.
Police arrested the driver, 42-year-old Bernard Richards of Janesville, for second degree reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm by a felon, disorderly conduct while armed and carrying a concealed weapon.
The passenger, 51-year-old Leslie Weil of Janesville, was arrested for disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.
Weil denied throwing any change and told police the other driver had cut them off and given them the finger.
