Drunk Driver Leaves Scene of Injury Crash

From the Dane County Sheriff's Department:

Madison, WI. February 10, 2012 – Shortly after 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8th, Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a hit and run crash on USH 51, near Mahoney Drive, in the town of Dunn.

The suspect vehicle pulled out of a private parking lot and struck a southbound Volkswagen Jetta operated by Emily J. McDonnell, age 17 of McFarland.

Deputies located the suspect vehicle, a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer, a short time later and made a traffic stop on CTH B near CTH MM.

Jovanni DiMaggio, age 22 of Oregon, was arrested and booked into the Dane County Jail for OWI-2nd Offense-Causing Injury. He was also cited for Operating After Revocation, Failure to Yield, Failure to Notify Police of an Accident, and Hit and Run Involving Injury.

Emily McDonnell was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
