A drunken driver, trying to negotiate a pickup truck through the parking lot smacked into 7 parked vehicles, according to private security staff. Responding officers were alerted by a dispatcher to an even greater concern: the suspect driver was now operating in the wrong lanes of U.S. Highway 12.
He didn't get far. The first responding officer saw the truck had left the pavement, careened through a fence, and plowed into a large power pole off of Mill Pond Rd. A couple of uninvolved, but concerned motorists pointed the officer in the direction of the truck's driver. He was out of the truck and swaying as he stood.
Three open bottles of vodka were observed the truck's cab. The driver did not perform well during field sobriety tests. He later tested .24 when blowing into an intoximeter.
