Update from the Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Office:
Based on the investigation at the fire scene, investigators from the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigations, State Fire Marshal's Office have ruled that this is an incendiary fire.
Investigators are continuing to follow-up on tips and leads and are reaching out to the public for help.
There are several ways for citizens to report information. They can contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 930-674-7310. Leave an anonymous tip, that may be eligible for a reward through We Tip by calling (800) 78-CRIME. Citizens may also submit an anonymous tip to the Wisconsin Arson Hotline at 1-800-362-3005 or online at www.wiarsonhotline.org. Tipsters are eligible for a reward of up to $5000 upon arrest and conviction.

Press Release from the Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Department:
Jefferson County Sheriff Paul Milbrath, reports that on Monday October 22, 2012 at approximately 2:25 pm, the 911 Dispatch Center received a phone call advising that the neighbors basement blew up.
A Deputy responded to W7496 Manske Road, Town of Lake Mills. Upon arrival the Deputy was told that there was a vehicle and a male subject observed in the driveway of the residence approximately 15 minutes prior to the explosion. Based on this information, the fire was deemed suspicious.
A joint investigation into the cause of the fire was started. Agencies involved in the investigation include the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigations, State Fire Marshall's Office, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Detective Division and the Lake Mills Fire Department.
Investigations at the fire scene continued through Tuesday, October 23, 2012. The residence sustained extensive damage as a result of the explosion and ensuing fire.
The investigation into this fire is continuing and more information will be released as it becomes available.

Firefighters are investigating a possible explosion in the Town of Waterloo.
The fire broke out just before 12:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at a home along Manske Road.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
Firefighters believe it started in the basement of the home.
A neighbor called 911 after hearing a blast.
The neighbor found glass in the yard from a window that exploded.
Fire crews from multiple departments responded to the scene.
We're told the home suffered extensive damage.
