Fire damages Windsor home Sunday morning

According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, a town of Windsor home is a complete loss after a fire broke out inside Sunday morning.

Officials said at 12:20 a.m. , Dane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies along with Fire Departments from DeForest, Sun Prairie, Waunakee, Dane, Maple Bluff, Arlington, Blooming Grove, Cottage Grove, Columbus, Middleton, Poynette and Rio responded to a house fire at 4156 Gray Rd in the Town of Windsor.

According to a release, the homeowners were awakened by the sound of smoke detector alarms and smoke in their one-story ranch. The homeowners exited the home without injury and called 911. The fire is believed to have originated in the chimney area, officials said.

The estimated value of the damage is unknown at this time, according to the release.
