Fitchburg Police searching for SUV after shots fired

According to the Fitchburg Police Department, police are searching for suspects after gun shots were fired and a hit and run crash occurred Friday night.

At 10:20 p.m. officers responded to the area of Sentinel Pass and Crescent Rd., according to a release. Fitchburg Police discovered during an investigation that a dark colored SUV was pursuing a lighter colored sedan in the area of Crescent Rd. During the pursuit, gun shots were being fired and one of the vehicles hit a legally parked truck.

Both vehicles were last seen traveling on Sentinel Pass, officials said. The sedan was later found abandoned and shell casings were found in the 4400 block of Crescent Rd.

No one is in custody at this time, and police are continuing to investigate and search for the dark colored SUV.

According to a release, the Madison Police Department and a K-9 uni assisted during the investigation.
