Flames Engulf Muscoda Home; Cat Dies in Fire

Press Release from the Grant Co. Sheriff's Department:

On January 17 at 1:48 a.m. the Grant County Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call of a house fire at 1638 Highway 133 in Muscoda Township.

The caller stated the front of the house was on fire and the occupants along with their animals were still inside. The dispatcher advised the residents to vacate their home immediately.

Muscoda Fire, EMS, police as well as Blue River Fire and a Grant County Deputy were dispatched to the fire.

Upon arrival of the Muscoda Police officer, the fire had quickly spread and the structure was now fully engulfed.

The cause of the fire is not yet determined. The owners were able to find shelter for the night with family who resided in the area. One cat did perish in the fire.
