UPDATE: Victim's Name Released In John Nolen Crash

UPDATE: Sunday, September 2, 2012 -- 8:45 a.m.

Information from the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office:

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office is releasing the name of the man who died in the traffic crash early Saturday morning. The crash occurred on John Nolen Drive at Lakeside Street at or around 2:00AM. The male is identified as 24-year-old Evan J. Dewan from Madison.

Mr. Dewan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Mr. Dewan’s death is the result of the injuries sustained in the crash.

This case remains under investigation by the City of Madison Police and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Details:
On 09/01/12 at 2:02 am Madison Police responded to a 3-vehicle crash on John Nolen Drive near E. Lakeside.

One person was trapped in a vehicle and was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Three other people were injured in this crash and transported to local hospitals.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation and officers are on scene.

Dane County officials tell NBC15 that one person was killed in the crash on John Nolen Drive.

From the Madison Fire Department:

City of Madison firefighters and paramedics responded to a car crash at the intersection of John Nolen Drive and Lakeside Street early Saturday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the scene at 2:03 a.m. and arrived five minutes later.

Rescuers found a crash involving three vehicles. Firefighters used extrication equipment to gain access to the damaged vehicles and safely remove the injured occupants.

Three patients were treated and transported to Madison hospitals.

Three paramedic ambulances responded to the scene including one unit from the Town of Madison Fire Department.
