WEST ALLIS, Wis. -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will be in West Allis this morning for a campaign event. Both Romney and President Barack Obama are campaigning hard in the swing state. Meanwhile, Vice President Joe Biden is planning appearances today in Beloit and Superior.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A former aide to Governor Scott Walker is set to have a final pre-trial hearing today ahead of next month's theft trial. Tim Russell was Walker's deputy chief of staff when Walker was the Milwaukee County executive. Russell's charged with stealing more than $21,000 from a nonprofit Walker asked him to lead.

OAK CREEK, Wis. (AP) -- Oak Creek officers detained a man at the Sikh (seek) temple where six people were killed in August after finding he had ammunition and notebook referencing mass shootings. The man also had duct tape and zip ties and told authorities he was writing a book and wanted to pray with the Sikhs. He was eventually released.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A Milwaukee ice rink will begin holding the World Cup qualifier for long track speedskating today. The U.S. Single Distance Long Track Championships is being held at the Pettit National Ice Center. It runs through Sunday.
