MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The state Capitol Christmas tree is now lighted and decorated for the holiday season.

Gov. Scott Walker and representatives from Wisconsin tree farms held a tree lighting ceremony on Friday morning to turn on the lights.

The 37-foot balsam fir tree in the Capitol rotunda is decorated with handmade ornaments from school children. A small model train runs around the base of the tree, which came from a Medford farm.

The tree will remain up through New Year's.

Walker cut down a much smaller tree that is in the governor's conference room just a few feet away from the much larger tree in the rotunda.
