Heroic Actions Save The Life of a Boy

On Friday, January 25,2013 at 6:05 a.m, the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle crash on highway 18 west at Blue River Rd. in the town of Eden.
Iowa County Deputy Brad Hill arrived on scene within one minute of the reported crash,and found the vehicle had overturned several times, and came to rest in a field and the driver still inside the vehicle , deputy hill and a passing motorist pulled the driver from the vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames.
The driver,Dakota L.Michek,18 years of age from Rewey,WI. Was transported by Montfort EMS to Upland Hills in Dodgeville and later transported by UW. MedFlight to U.W Hospital and Trauma Center for injuries received in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Montfort EMS and Cobb Fire and first responders.
