TOWN OF WALWORTH, Wis. (AP) -- An Illinois man suspected of drunken driving is facing charges for a crash that left him severely injured and killed a man in southeastern Wisconsin.
The Walworth County Sheriff's Office says the Woodstock, Ill., man was driving a Jeep with three other passengers when it left the road and struck a tree just before 7:45 a.m. Saturday. Twenty-two-year-old Kevin D. Green, of Fontana, Wis., died later at a Milwaukee-area hospital. One other passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries, while another had no apparent injuries.
The sheriff's office says the driver is being held in a Wisconsin hospital and will have a bond hearing when he gets medical clearance. He's being held on suspicion of operating while intoxicated-homicide and causing injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.
