Fire in Janesville causes $5,000 in damages

According to the Janesville Fire Department, a fire at the American Farm Implement building on S. River St. caused $5,000 in damages.

Fire Department officials say firefighters responded to the building on 122 S. River St. for a report of smoke filling the second floor area.

According to a release, upon arrival, firefighters determined the smoke was coming from a cargo elevator.

The Janesville Fire Department extinguished the fire, and then helped the plant ventilate the second floor.

There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by
the Janesville Fire Department.
