From the Rock County Sheriff's Office:

On 10/08/12 at 9:14 a.m., the Rock County 911 Center received a call from a citizen that was traveling behind a vehicle, which was driving erratically westbound on USH 14, approaching USH 51. The citizen reported that the vehicle, a red in color 2003 Pontiac Grand Am, swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic, forcing an approaching vehicle to drive onto the shoulder to avoid a collision. Rock County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched and arrived in the area.

The Grand Am, driven by 38-year-old Michael Multon of Janesville, was observed by a deputy traveling eastbound on Highland Ave. in Janesville turning south on Oakhill Ave. Deputies attempted to stop Multon, but he continued to evade officers. Deputies stopped the pursuit due to Multon increasing his speed to 70 MPH. Rock County deputies, along with the assistance of Janesville police officers, took Multon into custody at his residence.

Multon refused field sobriety tests and was arrested for 8th offense OWI (Felony), Prohibited Alcohol Concentration (.16), Fleeing (Felony), Operating After Revocation (Alcohol related), and Open Intoxicants. Multon is currently being held in the Rock County Jail and will make his initial appearance on 10/09/12.
