Press Release from Janesville Police:
On 03/18/2013 at 12:59 am Officer David Reints was patrolling the area of North Pontiac Drive and St. George Place. Officer Reints found a traffic crash. The investigation revealed that Ronald E. Campbell Jr. m/w 01/20/1976 struck an unoccupied parked vehicle while driving south bound on N. Pontiac Dr.
Mr. Campbell was not injured. He initially submitted to a series of field sobriety tests. He then refused to finish and said "I am drunk." Officer Reints noted that there was a strong odor of intoxicants coming from Cambell, he was unsteady on his feet, and slurred his speech. A preliminary breath test showed a result of .43 blood alcohol content. An evidentiary blood draw was taken from Campbell and the test results are pending at this time.
Mr. Campbell was arrested for OWI seventh offense. He is currently in custody on those charges.
