The Janesville Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a dog that bit a child in the area of W. Holmes St. and Lincoln St. on Friday at about 8:15 p.m.
The 8-year-old was walking with an adult when the dog came up from an unknown direction and bit the child in the face. The dog ran from the area in another unknown direction. The child was treated at a local hospital and received 10 stitches.
The description of the dog is somewhat vague, but it was a mixed breed black and brown dog of medium size.
