Janesville police investigate overnight death

UPDATED Wednesday, August 6, 2014 -- 1:15 p.m.

JANESVILLE, Wis. --- Janesville police say the woman found dead inside a Janesville home early Wednesday morning died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police were called the home by the woman's husband, who is a Wisconsin state trooper.

JANESVILLE, Wis. --- Police in Janesville are investigating an overnight death.

Police say they went to a domestic call around 3:00 a.m. between a husband and wife who were both reportedly stabbed. When police arrived the husband was outside the home. Inside the home officers found the wife dead from a gunshot wound.

Police will hold a news conference this afternoon.
