The Monona Grove School District welcomed home one of their very own this afternoon.

The gym at Monona Grove High School was packed as students, faculty, and staff came together to welcome a local Olympian.

Jessie is a goalie for the US Women's Hockey team.

She recently went to Sochi, Russia, to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics.

She came home to her high school with a silver medal -- one to add to the other silver medal she won in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.

"We're proud of how we played," Jessie explained, and thinks they played a "great tournament".

"We love bringing it back to our home state and our home communities and just sharing our experiences," Jessie said.

"it's been a fun day," Jessie said, talking about "meeting all the kids and ending it at the high school".

Jessie's parents were there too, of course.

"If I was any prouder, I'd probably bust," said Jessie's Dad, Tom Vetter.

He said that his daughter's team played their hearts out, and both won and lost with class.

Jessie said she doesn't have any exact plans for the future, and is unsure about whether she would be playing in the next Olympics.

Jessie is a graduate of both UW Madison and Monona Grove High School.
