Update on the following motor vehicle crash that occurred on August 09, 2012
Traffic Crash:
At 7:58 P.M., Deputies, along with Juda Fire Department, Green County EMS and REACT Medical Helicopter responded to a one-vehicle crash on CTH KS at CTH S, Town of Jefferson. Investigation revealed Michael A. Bliss, age 54, of rural Juda, was eastbound on CTH KS. Bliss operated left of center while negotiating a curve to the left, which caused him to enter the ditch and collide with a stop sign. Bliss continued across CTH S and collided with an embankment, causing the car to overturn onto its roof. Bliss was partially ejected, he sustained injuries and was flown by REACT to Rockford Memorial Hospital. Bliss was not wearing his seatbelt and the vehicle was not equipped with airbags. The vehicle sustained severe overall damage and was towed from the scene.
On August 20, 2012, the Green County Sheriff Department was contacted by the Winnebago County Coroner's office and informed that Michael A Bliss passed away from injuries sustained in the motor vehicle crash on August 9th, 2012. This is the 6th fatality in Green County in 2012.
