Madison Police say a man allegedly took approximately $200,000 from the Kennedy Little League baseball organization.
Officers received a complaint about the alleged embezzlement in November of 2012. Based on information provided to a detective, the fraudulent activity dated back to at least 2005.
After a complex investigation, Madison Police say Kennedy Little League's former president, 59-year-old Stephen Verhage, misappropriated the money.
Officers recommend Verhage be charged with multiple counts of theft and fraudulent writings. The reports have been forwarded to the Dane Co. District Attorney's Office.

A youth baseball and softball organization is reportedly at the center of a police investigation.
The Kennedy Little League coaches kids from the Lafollette, Monona Grove, and McFarland High School attendance areas.
Late this week coaches and members of the board received an email which said there was an "on-going investigation by the Madison Police Department regarding funds missing" from the organization.
The email also says police have a person of interest and have started a criminal investigation. It says the league will still be able to "make all of our financial commitments and we are in no danger of not being able to continue to provide baseball and softball for our children."
It is still unclear how much money may be missing from the league's accounts.
So far, Madison Police have not released any information regarding this situation.
