The annual festival added an ice fishing safety class to its list of events this year . The course teaches children how to ice fish safely while allowing them to experiment with the Wisconsin tradition.
Today, dozens showed up for the class that took place at Bartel’s beach in Lake Mills. The class was taught by conservation warden Ryan Ellifson.
“The future of of the environment depends on our children, they will be our future anglers,” said instructor Ellifson.
Organizers plan to make the safety course part of the annual festival.
