WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- The odds of your vehicle colliding with a deer on Wisconsin roadways are on the rise.

An annual report from State Farm Insurance says the odds have increased to 1 in 79 this year, compared to 1 in 88 last year.

Wisconsin ranks seventh among states for the second consecutive year.

The rankings are based on the number of vehicle collisions and licensed drivers in each state. Deer are involved in an estimated 18,000 crashes each year in Wisconsin.

The Wausau Daily Herald (http://tinyurl.com/9ef8h4a ) reports the likelihood that a driver will hit a deer anywhere across the U.S. this year is 1 in 183. The State Farm analysis says that's about the same odds of a person getting audited by the Internal Revenue Service next tax season.
