Line Budging Leads to Street Fight in Madison

Posted Tuesday, October 9, 2012 --- 1:20 p.m.

Incident Report from the Madison Police Department:

Incident Type: Fight (In Progress)

Incident Date: 10/07/2012 - 1:11 AM

Address: 500 block State St.

Details: Allegations of line budging evidently led to a street fight between two groups of women early Sunday morning. All had been waiting to get into the Osaka Bar, 505 State St., when one group believed the other had cut in line. Officers arrived to find several women rolling around on the sidewalk, pulling hair, and throwing punches.

A 23-year old Madison woman suffered a bloody nose. Another woman, also 23, was arrested for disorderly conduct. A third woman, who fled as police rolled-up, left without her purse. Contacted by phone, the 39-year old purse owner, said she was "extremely bothered" by the fact that one of the woman from the other side tried to grab the wig off of her head.
